EMPLOYMENT

"At The Women’s Psychotherapy Center, our vision is to make a profound impact on women’s lives. To achieve this, we’re in search of passionate therapists who share our commitment and values. Our main areas of specialization include trauma and PTSD, perinatal mental health, and parenting issues. We also work with anxiety, depression, and high functioning autism spectrum disorders. Our ideal candidates come with a doctoral degree in psychology, holding valid New Jersey state licensure to practice independently as a psychotherapist. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in trauma and/or perinatal mental health, and we are particularly interested in individuals with training in evidence-based treatment, such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR, CBT, and others.

The Women's Psychotherapy Center provides a supportive atmosphere where we value your individual professional growth. There are ample opportunities for paid training and regular professional consultation with the Clinical Director, Dr. Lauren Gerardi. You can make your own schedule and we provide benefits that are rare in the private practice world, such as health insurance. We offer paid sick leave as well. We are currently looking to fill a hybrid position, with at least two to three evenings a week in-person in our Freehold office. This position would be ideal for an early career psychologist, or even someone later in their career, who is looking to get into private practice for the first time. Rather than treating our former therapists as competition, we will provide you with the tools and knowledge to branch out on your own after your time here. If you’re dedicated to making a difference in women’s mental health and want to be part of our innovative journey, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive intakes and deliver individual psychotherapy to adults.

  • Offer treatment for conditions such as PTSD, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, and more.

  • Provide psychotherapy services to teens and children, based on relevant experience.

  • Ensure timely completion of progress notes and other essential documentation.

  • Actively participate in group or individual consultation meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD)

  • A valid New Jersey state license to practice as an independent psychotherapist.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal aptitude.

  • Availability for at least 15 hours weekly.

  • No current employment in another private practice.

  • Prior experience with evidence-based trauma treatments such as EMDR or Cognitive Processing Therapy is a plus.

Please visit our website at WomensPsychotherapyCenter.com for more information.  If interested, please send a resume and cover letter to LGerardi@WomensPsychotherapyCenter.com."
